Why aren't the medals part of the book campaigns any more?
Our campaign medals were originally part of our book Kickstarters, but pointy pin things don’t ship very well with flat book things. From now on, they’ll getting their own campaigns, in between book printings. Since we skipped the Volume 20 medal (we were very busy), we’ve added it here with its Volume 21 friend.

What's the difference between the regular medals and the "donation reward" medals?
Our Emperor and Empress of all Cats medals are unlimited-run designs that we plan to bring to our 2025 Summer conventions.
Aetheric Machinist, and the Official Animal of the Party, on the other hand, are our “Thank you for supporting our work” donation rewards. These collectibles exist to help support our mission to bring you new comics three times a week at girlgeniusonline.com, and when they’re gone, that’s it. They are limited Kickstarter campaign editions!

Why are you charging shipping in the pledge manager instead of here on Kickstarter?
By calculating and charging shipping after the campaign in BackerKit, we’ll be able to get you a more accurate (and hopefully lower) shipping rate on your rewards. It’s the way a lot of Kickstarter campaigns are being run now, and it seems to work better for everyone.

Can I use a fulfillment service to get a package to my country?
We’ve heard that this is a thing, and, If you wish, you may choose to use a fulfillment service. This allows you to pledge for the project and then provide us with a U.S. address for the delivery of your rewards. Forwarding from the fulfillment service, as well as any local fees, is your responsibility when using a fulfillment company.

I added extra funds here in Kickstarter, will they transfer to the pledge manager for use on add-ons?
We do pay extra fees if you do this, but if it works better for you, go ahead! Any extra funds pledged here go toward your final total in the pledge manager. If you know you want add-ons, you can add extra here or later in the pledge manager, it really is up to you.

Here is the shipping information, including estimates, for people who use text readers
SHIPPING will be charged after the campaign, in our pledge manager. Our pledge manager is where you’ll be able to confirm your rewards and address. It’s also where you can add extra medals to your order, including some of our leftover exclusives from older campaigns.
Below are some shipping estimates for ONE MEDAL for some common World regions. (current as of 12/2024)
PLEASE NOTE that these are rough ESTIMATES for shipping ONE ITEM. Actual shipping costs can change based on many circumstances. Please be aware that multiple items will often cost more to ship, and that shipping can sometimes be astonishingly expensive to send outside the USA.
USA: $10 Canada: 22 EU: 26 UK: 24 Australia: $26 Asia: 24 New Zealand: 26 Rest of World: $25-35
These estimates do not include taxes or duties that may apply in your country. We will do our best and use the proper harmonization codes, but it can still get expensive!
Calculating shipping in the pledge manager is the best way for us to get the most accurate shipping costs. It may even save you a little! Keep in mind that we always absorb some of the shipping and handling costs ourselves in an effort to keep things reasonable.
Thank you!

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
